So Isaac called it "Room Enough," for he said, "At last the LORD has made room for us, and we will be able to thrive." Genesis 26:22 NLT
Isaac had been in a situation of conflict with the Philistines over the digging of wells, finally he dug a well and named it “Room Enough” – the conflict was over and he had come into a spacious place – a place where he was able to prosper.
In sending Jesus to live and die for us God has dealt with our enemies. We have the Victory won for us through the blood of Jesus. In Christ we have overcome and we continue to overcome. The enemy - the accuser of the brothers - is a defeated enemy.
This year 2009 is a gift from God, it is a year full of blessing and potential for us as a church and individually. God has designed that we not just survive 2009 but we thrive. We have come into a spacious place, a place for us to grow and to flourish. We have the victory. We are to be humbled by what God has done for us but we are not to think small. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom – freedom in every area of our lives our bodies, our emotions, our finances our marriages.
What we say is so very important – our confession mush be in line with what God has done, we have the victory, we are free and God has given us room; room to flourish in ministry, in worship, in our workplace, and in our home life.
Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. Isaiah 54: 2-3 NIV
